Ratio Examples

Example1: A Recipe for halwa uses 5 cups of grame flour and 3 cups of water. Find the ratio of the recipe.

So the ratio of grame flour to water is 5 : 3

Example2: In a classroom of 30 students, 14 are girls and the remaining are boys. Find the ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls.

Total number of students in classroom = 30; Number of girls in classroom = 14.

Total number of boys = Total number of students in classroom – Total number of girls in classroom
= 30 – 14
= 16

Therefore, the desired ratio is, (Number of boys: Number of girls), which is 16:14.

so the ratio is : 8:7
